Mapo-ok is a Seolleongtang restaurant that has been in operation since 1949 for three generations. The restaurant’s soup, made only from beef without any additives, is highly regarded for its rich and pure flavor. The building, used since the 1970s, preserves the traces of the times in Yonggang-dong, Mapo-gu, and has been designated as a Future Heritage of Seoul. It was frequented by famous singers of the past, including Lee Mi-ja, Ha Chun-hwa, and Nam Jin. It is said that the composer of the song “Mapo Terminal” by the Eunbangul Sisters drew inspiration while dining here.
