Hangang Brewery is a unique distillery that centers its operations around promoting the resurgence and identity awareness of traditional alcohol from the grounds of Seongsu-dong, a neighborhood located by the Hangang River in eastern Seoul. Known as Seoul's primary manufacturing district, Seongsu-dong is the perfect spot to help better realize the vision of Hangang Brewery where the past and the present coexist with one another amid all the factories, cafes, commercial areas, and people of various backgrounds. Hangang Brewery utilizes Korea's traditional rice liquor, makgeolli, as a medium to bridge the past and the present by capturing past traditions and culture in such a way so as to be relevant in the present.
