WHY VISIT

Since 1958, the history of the shop, which started at Heungin Mill in Jongno, has been continued by moving to Mangwon-dong. Gyeonggi Tteokjip's founder, whose sons inherited his father's rice cake-making skills, is the second generation to run the business, and one of his sons holds the title of the youngest rice cake master. Their signature product is 'Ittitteok', a North Korean-style injeolmi with a unique shape of a rice cake wrapped around an egg. With the goal of preserving and carrying on the tradition, they have been researching rice cakes as a healthy dessert that modern people can enjoy lightly.
