Although the styles of Jeollanam-do (the southern province of the region of Jeolla) cuisine are varied, Yeosu Dongchon features the traditional cooking of the Yeosu area. The representative dish at this restaurant is the local variation of samhap (a dish of pork neck, aged kimchi, and cockle shellfish), and shellfish like cockles and comb pens. In the summer, hamo (pike eel) shabu shabu is recommended. For lunch, you can enjoy meongge bibimbap (a bowl of rice topped with fresh chopped sea squirt, sautéed and seasoned vegetables, and chili paste), and raw crabs marinated in soy sauce, in addition to many other dishes.
