Hadonggwan

WHY VISIT

Hadongkwan is a gomtang (beef soup) restaurant that opened in Suha-dong in 1939 and has been passed down for three generations. Upholding the founding owner's philosophy, they do not operate in the evenings or offer delivery, strictly adhering to the principle of closing the restaurant once all the prepared food is sold out. Even after relocating to Myeong-dong, they continue to use high-quality beef simmered for a long time to provide a light and clean Seoul-style gomtang. They insist on offering only two menu items: gomtang and suyuk (boiled beef). By maintaining the practice of serving food in traditional brass bowls, they continue their consistent taste and tradition.
