WHY VISIT
Cheongjinok began in 1937 under the name "Pyeonghwagwan" as a small haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant frequented by woodcutters. After liberation, it changed its name to Cheongjinok and established itself as the epitome of haejangguk in Seoul. Boasting a deep and savory taste by simmering beef bones for 24 hours and adding various ingredients like intestines, tripe and intestines, and seonji (beef blood pudding), the flavor is certainly guaranteed, having specialized in haejangguk for nearly 90 years. The interior is spacious and clean, with photos depicting the history of Cheongjinok displayed on the walls.
