WHY VISIT

The Ojangdong-area has many restaurants that serve Hamheung-style naengmyeon, a North Korean style of cold buckwheat noodles, but Ojangdong Heungnamjip is supposed to be the best and is the most popular among Koreans whose families originated in the north. Their bibim naengmyeon (chilled buckwheat noodles mixed with chili sauce) is served with sliced beef and the hoe naengmyeon comes topped with raw skate. As you might guess, the mixed naengmyeon includes both beef and raw skate. The noodles made from sweet potato starch and the sour flavor of the raw skate really stand out.
