WHY VISIT

"Make a Wish" is an exhibition that focuses on what we have lost and need to reclaim while living in an era of lightness. Unlike the past, when unchanging universal values prevailed, in the era of lightness, where only constant change becomes the sole truth, unstable daily life has become the “new normal.” People feel the lightness of existence more than ever, drifting by clicking on links as algorithms lead them through another new normal in the digital world. In this reality, we find ourselves pondering what we can rely on to alleviate anxiety and prevent ourselves from being consumed by sadness and emptiness. We inevitably contemplate how to reclaim important things like communication, symbiosis, peace, and happiness that we are losing. Perhaps now is the time to summon the genie from the lamp and make a wish. This exhibition, presented as a kind of “spiritual journey,” aims to demonstrate the belief that humans can still uphold conditions for dignity and spiritual freedom even amidst the scattering of life's lightness. Stories initiated by the artists evolve into the audience's narratives, creating their tales, myths, and earnest prayers. These interconnected narratives are hoped to become wisdom passed down through generations.
