WHY VISIT
What was your childhood like? This exhibition begins with that question. The international exchange exhibition, “Stories of Children Who Lived Through the War: Childhood under the Siege,” aims to convey the preciousness of peace through 38 stories of children who endured the longest siege in modern history, which took place in Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia, from 1992 to 1995. For 1,425 days, children in Sarajevo lived isolated from the world, experiencing a different daily life than ordinary children. Their lives, filled with the pain of war and the preciousness of everyday moments, are told with quiet resilience. These deeply personal stories are not just about Sarajevo, a city 8,465 kilometers away from Seoul. They are stories of families, friends, and neighbors, resonating deeply with the audience. Through this exhibition, the hope is for you to feel that "people are strong, and children are strong!"
