WHY VISIT
Weaving Relations is an exhibition that spans the theme of "Architecture" for the 2024 Seoul Museum of Art exhibition. It delves into the essential attributes of architecture as a process of creating value and experience through relationship building and examines this process through various conceptual approaches. Weaving Relations induces a shift in perspectives on life by exploring various ways of relationship building, facilitated by physical spaces that serve as fundamental conditions for self-recognition. Through the works of seven artists, the exhibition prompts contemplation on the transformations in how we perceive life. Through this, the aim is to awaken modern individuals to the dynamic value of relationship building, which can counter feelings of isolation and identity loss. The exhibition title, Weaving Relations, borrowed from Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's literary work "The Little Prince," encapsulates the essence of relationship building. Weaving Relations refers to forming relationships based on temporality, repetition, and process while also being grounded in communal nature, which is the essence of architecture. What are we weaving, and what are we being weaved by? The exhibition aims to produce various narratives that accumulate deep relationship moments.
