WHY VISIT

Seokguram Grotto is nestled halfway up Inwangsan Mountain, just below Chimabawi Rock, and can be reached via the Inwangsan Mountain Trail. Inside, you'll find the Three Buddha Statues, while the surrounding forest path features a Buddha statue and a Maitreya Buddha carved into the rocks. Above the main hall at Sanshingak Shrine, a large rock bears a painting of the Mountain Spirit and a tiger that guards Inwangsan. About 30 meters to the right of Seokguram, you can also visit the Cheonhyangam Hermitage. From Seokguram, you'll enjoy stunning panoramic views of Seoul, with Namsan Tower visible on the opposite mountain and, on clear days, even Lotte Tower. Below, Gyeongbokgung Palace and the Blue House come into view.
