WHY VISIT

The museum is a place where memories are preserved and shared. The Seoul Museum of History actively encourages citizen donations to collect materials that embody Seoul’s history and culture and introduces newly donated items through exhibitions. This year, they have prepared a special exhibition focusing on items donated from 25 different places last year. Although each piece varies in the time it holds and its rarity, every item is a precious treasure to both the donors and the museum. To better highlight the value of these materials, the museum restores items in poor condition, translates classical Chinese texts into modern Korean for better understanding, and creates a more visitor-friendly exhibition environment.
