Kim Jihee’s Solo Exhibition: DIVINITY

WHY VISIT

Museum Wave is celebrating its first anniversary with its inaugural full-scale exhibition featuring Kim Ji-hee's solo exhibition “DIVINITY.” Known domestically and internationally for her imagery of girls wearing glasses and animals, Kim Ji-hee has gained significant popularity, particularly in China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. This exhibition will showcase the 10-meter masterpiece "Eternal Golden," first presented at the K11 Art Museum in China earlier this year. This work, debuting in Korea, was meticulously created over four years using traditional Korean paper (jangji) and fine brush techniques. It depicts the finite nature of life, likening it to a single day, and portrays humans' desires and adventures from dawn to night. This exhibition provides a rare opportunity to view one of the artist's most significant works. This exhibition, spread across four galleries, begins on the first floor with the 10-meter masterpiece "Eternal Golden," exploring the theme of “desire.” On the second floor, the Dongja Gallery features traditional paintings inspired by the Museum Wave's predecessor, the Old Stone Museum, unveiling the artist's first digital work themed around divinity. The main exhibition hall on the second floor will host the Trunk Show series, which has garnered immense domestic and international popularity. On the third floor, visitors can watch videos showcasing the artist's creative process and international blockbuster exhibitions and explore new works depicting various scenes of a girl, symbolizing the possibility of hope.
