WHY VISIT
Established in 2017 to promote the history and science of sewerage, the Seoul Sewerage Science Museum is the nation's first science museum specializing in sewerage. It was constructed at the site of the Cheonggyecheon Sewage Treatment Plant, the country's first sewage disposal plant, to continue the historical significance and values of the facility. The museum is also a space that is centered on on-site experience, comprised of a science exhibition hall that displays the history, technology, and future of domestic and overseas sewerage, as well as a water reclamation center where visitors can take a look around sewerage facilities. As the center of environmental education, the Seoul Sewerage Science Museum offers various programs to teach the process of sewage purification and the significance of water.
