WHY VISIT

Lee Youngjun's solo exhibition “Ingoing Escape” is organized to coincide with the Kiaf and Frieze seasons to introduce noteworthy emerging artists. It is also part of the 2024 Seoul Art Week. Based in Munich, Germany, Lee Youngjun has been expanding his activities in Korea since last year. He is an experimental artist who reinterprets space and form, drawing on personal narratives and emotions. The exhibition's theme, “Ingoing Escape,” means “escape inward,” emphasizing the artist's distinctive multidimensional abstraction. Lee Youngjun's works are created using a technique of layering various materials on canvas, with each layer maintaining its unique form without blending, effectively showcasing the dimensionality of time. Through this exhibition, viewers will experience a paradoxical encounter, simultaneously delving into their consciousness and confronting the multi-layered aspects of perception.
