WHY VISIT

Bulgwangcheon Stream, which originates in Bulgwang-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, flows through Yeokchon-dong, Eungam-dong, and Jeungsan-dong, and extends to Bukgajwa-dong in Seodaemun-gu and Seongsan-dong in Mapo-gu, covering a length of approximately 9.21 km. In 2002, wastewater prevention facilities were installed, and groundwater was pumped to create the current flowing stream. Named after the nearby Bulgwangsa Temple, the upper stream of Bulgwangcheon Stream features riverside stands and fountain shows. Along the stream are well-developed bike paths and walking trails, with various trees and aquatic plants offering diverse landscaping throughout the seasons. This restored ecosystem makes Bulgwangcheon Stream a beloved walking path for residents.
