WHY VISIT
In spring, the embankment of Jungnangcheon Stream is covered with canola flowers. The 5.15-kilometer section from Jangpyeonggyo Bridge to Wolleunggyo Bridge is a land of bright yellow flowers. In the summer, you can see a colorful tunnel of 40,000 roses, and in autumn, silver grass, reeds, cosmos, and sunflower flower paths create a unique autumn scenery. If Jungnangcheon is famous for its spring, summer, and autumn flowers, winter is definitely the time for migratory birds. The 3.3-kilometer section where Jungnangcheon Stream joins the Hangang River from the confluence of Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jungnangcheon Stream is a protected area for migratory birds and is perfect for sightseeing. More than 4,000 birds of more than 40 species, including herons, herring gulls, and cormorants, fly in, and 21 species of migratory birds, such as mallards and kestrels, visit especially in winter. When migratory birds visit in winter, a birdwatching program and a migratory bird observation class also take place, making the place an ecological learning center for children.
