WHY VISIT
Gongpyeong Historic Sites Museum was created when well preserved 16th century Joseon sites were dug up during redevelopment phases of Gongpyeong district 1, 2, and 4. The museum is largely divided into 4 parts: “Coexistence of Development and Preservation”, “Gyeonpyeong-bang of the Joseon Dynasty Period”, “Modern Gongpyeong-dong”, and “Historic Sites Archives.” The completed Gongpyeong Historic Sites Museum displays the various relics and building structures of a neighborhood which managed to remain undisturbed for over 600 years, allowing visitors a closer look at the daily lives of people who had lived back in the Joseon Dynasty.
