Ilmin Museum of Art is a private art museum that mainly exhibits Korean contemporary art. It was originally established to commemorate Kim Sangman, former president of the Donga Ilbo, one of Korea's leading media outlets. The museum's name was taken from Kim's pen name, Ilmin (meaning “one people” or “a nation united” in Korean). The museum is run by the Ilmin Cultural Foundation and a variety of special exhibitions and art classes are held throughout the year. The museum has a cafe and restaurant on the first floor.
