Take in the view of Busan Port at a glance from the Environmentally Friendly Skyway Observatory

Mangyang-ro in Busan was a mountain road of refugees during the Korean War. Today, though, connected with Ibagu-gil in Choryang-dong, Dong-gu, the road winding down the mountain is a great vantage point where visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the old downtown and the sea in front of the city. One of the unique features of this road you might find interesting is that the rooftop of some of the houses under it serves both as a parking lot and observatory. The Environmentally Friendly Skyway Observatory located right next to Busan Science High School offers a more dramatic view of the mountain road. It’s a wooden pedestrian deck built on a mountainside covered with cherry blossoms, providing a more panoramic view from a much higher point than the mountain road. Another advantage of this deck is that it’s a safer and comfortable place to enjoy the scenery without having to worry about the cars. Climb the wooden stairs to the observatory, and you will have a panoramic view of the Busan Port Bridge across the North Port, Sinseondae Pier, Yeongdo, Nampo-dong, Jagalchi Market, and Yongdusan Park. And during the cherry blossom season in spring, the entire observatory turns into a palace of flowers. The stunning view of Busan Port Bridge at night makes it one of the best night view spots in Busan. An exotic atmosphere is created by a row of lit houses along Mangyang-ro, the road that winds up to the mountain top.
