WHY VISIT

Fluffy white clouds in the blue sky and refreshing cool breeze. This is the season when the delightful weather calls for taking a walk. With the weather brightening up the mood, how about filling yourself with therapeutic energy by taking a leisurely walk? A place where the fragrant scents of colorful wild flowers and refreshing herbs follow you walking along the trails. I am off to Haeundae Arboretum full of the freshness of green. Before setting off on your expedition around the vast Haeundae Arboretum, I grab an information leaflet from the information center located at the entrance. Although guide maps are installed throughout the arboretum, this leaflet contains useful information to conveniently guide you around the arboretum. From a magnificent cypress forest and a variety of trees to the Hyanggiwon filled with the beautiful scents of nature, the Herb Trail, and the Ecological Wetland Garden, the thematic gardens delight your eyes, adding excitement along the walking trails. The subtle fragrances of herbs wafting in the air perfectly harmonize with the refreshing scent of phytoncides. I stop for a minute to enjoy the refreshing natural therapy. The herbs and wild flowers, which names are unknown to me, console my heart fatigued by daily hectic life. The sound of trees rustling in wind, the chirping of birds, and the singing of grass insects nearby soothe my heart and body. Could it be any more peaceful? Don’t become startled if you happen to run into a flock of sheep resembling fluffy clouds grazing in the pasture. Haeundae Arboretum is home to an eco-friendly miniature zoo, which is a feature that differentiates it from other arboretums. In this nature-friendly ecological zoo, more than ten sheep graze freely in the open field. Make sure to enjoy the special experience of interacting with animals strolling along the walking trail by your side. There is also a children’s playground consisting of a small ecological pond, a miniature maze, and a little hilly play yard. Designed at the children’s eye level, everything is cute and lovely. Watching children having fun and running around freely in nature’s playground is another therapeutic point of this arboretum. Everywhere I look, it’s full of green. Walking around Haeundae Arboretum filled with the refreshing green waves, I have this sudden realization. When the season of autumnal foliage comes, this space will change into a colorful backdrop. Promising myself to revisit Haeundae Arboretum in autumn, I continue to immerse myself in this green therapy for now.
