If your dates are already set, knowing what each season opens up is half of planning. Korea's official tourism bodies rotate their own content by season too. Spring (Mar–May) — blossoms and walks

Cherry and spring blossoms move up the peninsula from south to north. Cities where walking is the experience — Gyeongju's royal tombs and hanok streets, Jeonju Hanok Village — are at their best. Mornings stay cool, so layers help.

Summer (Jun–Aug) — sea, islands and nights

This is when Busan and Jeju take the lead. Beaches open, and the day's center of gravity shifts to evenings — night markets and shoreline walks after the heat. Late June to July brings the monsoon, so keeping one indoor alternative per day protects your plan.

Autumn (Sep–Nov) — foliage at its peak

Many travelers call this Korea's best season. Clear, dry days line up and the mountains and temples turn to foliage. Mountain temples like Bulguksa and near-city trails are the season's answer. It is also peak festival season — worth one look at each city's official event pages before you fly.

Winter (Dec–Feb) — snowscapes and warmth

Cold, but vivid. Snow trekking on Hallasan, steam rising over market alleys, the warmth of ondol floors — that is winter's vocabulary here. Days are short, so placing the day's key stops before mid-afternoon keeps things unhurried.
